As passing storm ends and shows signs of a brighter spring ahead.
The leaves of the rhododendron flicker,
Bouncing rays of sunlight off the dew.
The branches sway from left to right,
Stopping periodically when the breeze slows.
Channels of water left from the rain,
Sitting in the cracks of cement.
The water running to the edges of the sidewalk,
Watering the sprouts of new grass.
The clouds spread thin and dissipate,
Exposing peeks of blue sky and more rays of light.
What was once a storm of thunder and lightning,
Was purely just making its way in passing.
