Tegu (pronounced “Tay-goo”) angle MAGNETIC blocks allow geometric building possibilities for gravity-defying play that takes you to the edge. Magnets are responsibly embedded safely within the beautiful natural wood exterior of Tegu blocks. Though, we’re not sure how they got the magnets in there. Reach new heights. Approach your tall tower from all kinds of new angles!

Tegu blocks come packaged in a beautifully designed box large and rigid enough to store the blocks for many years to come. Also, don’t miss out on some really fun factoids about the blocks and their origin on the inside of each package.

Tegu practices “Sustainable forestry” means that trees are harvested in a selective and controlled manner such that the forest is allowed to continue to develop and properly regenerate. The wood and the coatings are water-based and non-toxic.

Includes: 40 blocks in seven shapes as follows: 4 large columns, 8 mega planks, 8 long planks, 4 medium columns, 4 small trapezoids, 4 large trapezoids & 8 short planks. Each set also includes the Tegu Story; a booklet containing various building ideas to get you started and information regarding their social & environmental initiatives.

Don’t forget to check out the Tegu travel tote! Bring your blocks around in style!

Stack ‘em up, knock ‘em down. Spell a word or two. We love the simplicity and enduring value of Uncle Goose basswood blocks. Without batteries and moving parts, blocks are often a child’s favourite toy. Simple wooden blocks help children learn and build fine motor skills and develop their imaginations. Made in the USA from sustainable Michigan basswood since 1983. These learning blocks meet all U.S. and European safety standards, and feature child-safe non-toxic inks.

Uncle Goose is as concerned about our environment as we are. The wood used is farmed, planted and harvested on industry-managed land around the Great Lakes. Their manufacturing process minimizes waste, both in production and packaging.

Other languages are available through special order: Danish, Dutch, Hebrew, Norwegian, Polish, Russian and Spanish.

Role playing is so important for young children and kitchen play is among the most common. So, to keep them happily doing their dishes and stirring pretend dough without being underfoot, we think Hape and Plan Toys are great place to start for their own wooden kitchen toys. Hape has just introduced the Coolest Cooler and matching Gourmet Kitchen Set – both perfect for a play area. They even have a sweet little Toaster as well as a Coffee Maker and the best part? This child-size coffee maker comes with a little filter, bright blue cup, milk and sugar! For slightly older children, Djeco makes beautiful painted wooden pastry sets, tea sets and adorable kitchens, too! We especially love that most of the kitchen toys are painted in bright, non toxic pop colours that appeal to both boys and girls. Add in a cute chef’s hat and their career path is set…

Our wooden display kitchen, breakfast food, and fruit and vegetable set are so well-loved by kids of all ages when they come to visit our shop! Come on by and have a play. Bet they’ll make you a wooden egg sandwich. Yum.

Theatre de L’Aventure by Nathalie L’Ete.

We absolutely adore this gorgeous and magical puppet theatre. It is the perfect size for several kids to put on fantastic puppet shows together yet it doesn’t take up too much space. Although it is so charming, we wouldn’t even mind if it did!

We also have a smaller but equally enchanting items by this wonderfully talented artist. Find a beautiful tea set, puzzles, a memory game, magnets, buttons and small mirrors in store and online.

Nathalie L’Ete was born in 1964. She lives and works in Paris. She works in many ways, mixing different techniques and mediums, illustration, ceramics, textile and painting… she is inspired by her travels, but also by the mixing of vintage toys and old engravings of flowers and animals. Her work is colourful, naive and poetic, sometimes strange, to the point of tending towards art brut. Her world is nurtured by popular and folk art.

Our lovely friend Erin at Collage Collage has an assortment of puppets and marionettes that would be a welcome addition to this theater.

Find her at www.collagecollage.ca
