Looking for something fun and cultural to do with your kids? Join Lisa Cinar and Emily Carr students (both past and present) for the opening reception of Little Red Riding Hood And Other Stories – The Making of a Picture Book.  2pm on Saturday June 15th at Emily Carr University of Art & Design.

Light snacks and refreshments will be served.  The show is located in the Concourse Gallery which is the big gallery space when you walk into the north building on the Granville Island campus.

We’ve enjoyed several book readings with Lisa and love her work. This is sure to be a great event.

Duck! Rabbit! A wonderful book for Wednesday Morning Storytime!

Tuesday, May 17th, 2011

From the award-winning author of Little Pea, Little Hoot, and Little Oink comes a clever take on the age-old optical illusion: is it a duck or a rabbit? Depends on how you look at it! Readers will find more than just Amy Krouse Rosenthal’s signature humour here—there’s also a subtle lesson for kids who don’t know when to let go of an argument. A smart, simple story that will make readers of all ages eager to take a side, Duck! Rabbit! makes it easy to agree on one thing—reading it again!

Amy Krouse Rosenthal is a Chicago-based writer. She is the author of Little Pea, Little Hoot, Little Oink, and several other books for children and adults.

Tom Lichtenheld works as both an advertising art director and as a creator of children’s books. He has written and illustrated several books, including Everything I Know About Pirates. He has also collaborated with Amy Krouse Rosenthal on The OK Book and It’s Not Fair! He lives in Geneva, Illinois.

About Wednesday Morning Story Time: We will be reading a different book from our vast (and growing!) selection of amazing children’s books on Wednesdays at 10:30 am at our Port Moody location. Swing by Wednesday mornings… and we’ll read to your child while you can enjoy the book, browse, shop or just daydream. If you like the book we’ve read, you will be able purchase it at a special price on the day of the reading.

We look forward to seeing you on Wednesday mornings!
