Let’s Draw a Stickman

Monday, January 9th, 2012

When noodling the web we came across this awesome website Draw a Stickman (http://www NULL.drawastickman NULL.com/gallery NULL.htm?p=53).

It’s one of the first things kids learn to draw and adults continue to do so through the rest of their lives.

Here you can be simple or as elaborate as you would like. It will come to life and go on an adventure. When your stick man comes upon an obstacle, you are encouraged to draw other objects to help get your character out of trouble.

You can download the free Stickman app here. (http://itunes NULL.apple NULL.com/us/app/draw-a-stickman/id467614894?mt=8) We have also discouvered the AppCrayon (http://shop NULL.dandelionkids NULL.ca/dano01 NULL.html) really helps those little hands!

Have fun!  Please send us a screen capture of your drawings so we can post them.  Better yet.  If you send us a drawing that involves dandelion we will send you a special discount code. Attack of the dandelions?

Happy drawing! We can’t wait to see what you come up with!

Theatre de L’Aventure or the Most Beautiful Puppet Theatre We’ve Ever Seen!

Nat Theater (http://shop NULL.dandelionkids NULL.ca/8608 NULL.html)

Theatre de L’Aventure by Nathalie L’Ete.

We absolutely adore this gorgeous and magical puppet theatre. It is the perfect size for several kids to put on fantastic puppet shows together yet it doesn’t take up too much space. Although it is so charming, we wouldn’t even mind if it did!

We also have a smaller but equally enchanting items by this wonderfully talented artist. Find a beautiful tea set, puzzles, a memory game, magnets, buttons and small mirrors in store and online.

Nathalie L’Ete was born in 1964. She lives and works in Paris. She works in many ways, mixing different techniques and mediums, illustration, ceramics, textile and painting… she is inspired by her travels, but also by the mixing of vintage toys and old engravings of flowers and animals. Her work is colourful, naive and poetic, sometimes strange, to the point of tending towards art brut. Her world is nurtured by popular and folk art.

Our lovely friend Erin at Collage Collage has an assortment of puppets and marionettes that would be a welcome addition to this theater.
