Strider Bikes staff do some product testing! Fun!

Thursday, June 3rd, 2010

The Strider Bikes staff take a few ‘mildly modified’ Strider PREbike balance bikes running some of the downhill mountain bike trails on M Hill in Rapid City, SD. The video definitely shows how durable the frame is when a bunch of grown men can come down through this rough terrain and even land some jumps on the footrests. Enjoy the video…

You can see their full post on the Strider website here (http://www NULL.stridersports NULL.com/blog/rippin-the-m-strider-sports-staff-do-some-product-testing/).

Introducing Strider, The No Pedal PREbike at dandelion KIDS

Friday, May 7th, 2010

(http://shop NULL.dandelionkids NULL.ca/index NULL.php?search=strider)

We’re really excited to introduce the Strider line of PREbikes to dandelion KIDS. Designed for children ages one to five, it provides a great start and will put your child miles ahead when it comes to learning how to ride a bike. The low-to-the-ground push bike prevents tip-overs, creating a much safer environment for learning. This allows kids to learn to bicycle balance around the same time they learn to walk. There are no pedals to get in the way. Riders simply push off and put their little feet on a piece of grip tape, located on the solid swing arm, to coast along.

You can learn more about the Strider PREbike on their website (http://www NULL.stridersports NULL.com).

We have them in Orange, Blue, Pink and Green – but we don’t expect to have them around for long, so order yours today!

We’ve just received our newest arrivals of Daily Tea for boys and girls, newborn to 5 years.

An incredibly well thought-out collection that mix and matches perfectly, Daily Tea allows you to go for a streamlined look or a fantastic blend of pattern and colour.  All made of 100% cotton.

For Spring/Summer 2010, the designers at Tea were captivated by South Korea – from the bustle and color of Seoul’s city streets to the rugged, natural beauty of Jejudo, Korea’s largest volcanic island. New Products: Mini Mioche

Wednesday, April 21st, 2010

Just in time for Earth Day, we thought we’d blog about the ‘mini mioche’ way.

mini mioche says “Being green is cool”.

We agree! And it gets better: not only is mini mioche’s line of baby and toddler clothing made of 100% organic cotton, but it is also made in Toronto. mini mioche clothing is super soft and comfy, well made and darn cute!

Here a little more detail about their process:

All mini mioche clothing is inspired by and made according to the company’s values. In an industry dominated by production in low wage countries, ‘MADE IN CANADA’ is something rarely seen on the origin label of any fashion product. Each and every piece of mini mioche is designed and manufactured in Toronto, Canada. Our product is made in a safe, clean factory environment by skilled seamspeople who are paid a fair living wage.  mini mioche also believes you should be able to buy stylish, comfortable and affordable fashion for your little one without harming the environment, which is why all of our products are made with 100% certified organic cotton. mini mioche organic cotton is a more environmentally friendly option over conventional cotton clothing lines – which typically use chemicals and farming processes that are harmful to the environment.

Other ways we aim to leave as little carbon footprint as possible:

  • All of our printed materials, from hang tags to catalogs, are printed on 100% recycled materials.
  • We use water based or discharge prints for our graphics.
  • We use re-usable dyes for our fabrics.
  • We ship all of our online orders in re-usable organic cotton drawstring bags.
  • We do not ship our retail customers’ product in plastic bags, as the vast majority of apparel manufacturers do – we skip the extra packaging wherever possible.

You can find mini mioche’s products on our webstore (http://shop NULL.dandelionkids NULL.ca/index NULL.php?search=mini%20mioche).

See more of mini mioche’s latest clothing:

mini mioche wrote about us on their blog (http://www NULL.minimiocheblog NULL.com/2010/02/cool-store-dandelion-kidsvancouver-bc NULL.html) back in February too…
Thanks for the love.

Theatre de L’Aventure or the Most Beautiful Puppet Theatre We’ve Ever Seen!

Monday, December 14th, 2009

Nat Theater (http://shop NULL.dandelionkids NULL.ca/8608 NULL.html)

Theatre de L’Aventure by Nathalie L’Ete.

We absolutely adore this gorgeous and magical puppet theatre. It is the perfect size for several kids to put on fantastic puppet shows together yet it doesn’t take up too much space. Although it is so charming, we wouldn’t even mind if it did!

We also have a smaller but equally enchanting items by this wonderfully talented artist. Find a beautiful tea set, puzzles, a memory game, magnets, buttons and small mirrors in store and online.

Nathalie L’Ete was born in 1964. She lives and works in Paris. She works in many ways, mixing different techniques and mediums, illustration, ceramics, textile and painting… she is inspired by her travels, but also by the mixing of vintage toys and old engravings of flowers and animals. Her work is colourful, naive and poetic, sometimes strange, to the point of tending towards art brut. Her world is nurtured by popular and folk art.

Our lovely friend Erin at Collage Collage has an assortment of puppets and marionettes that would be a welcome addition to this theater.

New product: Early Rider learner bikes

Thursday, November 19th, 2009

Easy Rider Classic graphic (http://dandelionkids NULL.ca/blog/wp-content/uploads/2009/11/earlyrider_classic NULL.jpg)

New Product: Early Rider Learner Bikes

We’ve carried a pedal-less bike for years, and it’s always been hugely popular. Now we would like to introduce our new favourite bike by Early Rider from the UK. It has got to be the most stylish bike out there!  A classic learner bike with 2  models – the Early Rider Lite (http://shop NULL.dandelionkids NULL.ca/erln-whuk NULL.html)(for 1.5 – 4 years) and the Early Rider Classic (http://shop NULL.dandelionkids NULL.ca/ercn-whuk NULL.html)(for 2-5 years), both of which have flames on the side. We just love these high-quality bikes, and your child will too!

These bikes were designed by a British father who wasn’t happy with the bikes without training wheels available on the market for his 3-year-old son. So, he created his Classic style of sit-and-go bikes. Being lower to the ground than traditional bikes makes them safer, and since the bikes are pedal-free, they allow children to concentrate on balancing, and learning without training wheels. And, with the added feature of restricted steering, the element of overturning is removed as your child learns their limits on the bike.

dandelion KIDS has some stock right now, and are expecting a big shipment before the holidays. Please call or email to pre-order.

You can learn more about the Early Rider bikes on their website (http://www NULL.earlyrider NULL.com), and be sure to watch the video.
