dandelion KIDS was invited to participate in the ‘Making Magic Fund’ by Suzanne of Green Planet Parties (http://www NULL.greenplanetparties NULL.com/) and Mommy Foot Print (http://mommyfootprint NULL.com/).
What is it? It’s a collaboration of many small businesses who want to give back. We are joining together with The Vancouver Sun Children’s Fund (http://www NULL.vansunkidsfund NULL.ca/) Adopt a school to help children. Between December 5-11th if you shop at these stores online – proceeds will be donated to help schools, which help children, helps families and helps our future.
The Vancouver Sun Children’s Fund launched a special fundraising project called Adopt-a-School. This project identifies schools (http://www NULL.google NULL.com/maps/ms?hl=en&mpa=0&ctz=480&mpf=0&ie=UTF8&msa=0&t=m&vpsrc=6&msid=205832093082833084183 NULL.0004b17d3a9dd525ec36f&ll=49 NULL.219391,-122 NULL.818909&spn=0 NULL.448493,0 NULL.793762&z=9&source=embed) and their specific needs throughout Metro Vancouver. The site tells you the individual needs within each school so everyone can identify something to donate (sports equipment, winter coats in particular sizes, mitten, socks, etc.) The most needed item identified by all the schools of course is money so they can assess and fix their most outstanding needs. The amazing thing about donating the money via Adopt-a-School is they will match all donations so the money is being doubled, hence why we are all donating 10% of our online sales. Let the giving begin!

Wow, we can hardly believe it! We’ve been open for 7 wonderful years and so many fantastic things have happened. We’ve met beautiful babies, adorable toddlers, big kids entering Kindergarten and growing up happy and strong! We’ve enjoyed getting to know wonderful parents, aunts and uncles, best friends and good neighbours. Thank you for this!
When we first opened on Commercial Drive in 2004, we were proud to be the first to introduce many new and amazing children’s products to Vancouver. We are so pleased to continue with many of these beloved lines and still introduce innovative, earth-friendly, well-made, beautiful, practical products for children. We are grateful that our reputation has continued to grow over the years and we were able to expand our little neighbourhood shop into the online world and then open a second community-minded shop in Port Moody for the Tri-Cities. Coast Modern is a documentary project about the history of residential modernist architecture on the West Coast of North America, and how our laid back culture informed the movement.
For anyone with an interest in Modernism, or a chance to mix with some of the local luminaries of the modernist architecture set, here’s your opportunity to do it with oysters on the half shell and fine local wine and beer!
