I was sorting through some photos from this past Summer (and what a Summer it was here in Vancouver!) when I was reminded of this photo. I meant to post it earlier, but it slipped my mind. The photo is timeless, and might just be the cutest photo ever! If you missed this earlier this summer, keep reading…

ABC3D Pop-up Book Video

ABC3D Pop-up Book by Marion Bataille

Although the subject matter fits squarely in with the toddler set, the detail of the paper craft and the innovation of this pop-up book make it a great addition to any design collection or stack of books on the coffee table.

From the lenticular cover all the way through to Z, this book is a work of art. In a stark palette of black, white and red, the letters move and change before your eyes. C flips to become D, K kicks out its legs, a dash turns O and P into Q and R, the U is created with a delicate paper bridge and V mirrors itself to become W.

The ABC3D book is available in store now, and coming to our online store soon.

Skuut Bike Winner Nicholas

Nicholas looking sharp on his new Skuut bike.

Our yoyomama.ca contest winners, Nicholas and his Mom, Paula, sent us the nicest thank-you email:

“We live in a great residential neighbourhood in Port Coquitlam and he’s been getting lots of attention as he rides around in the cul-de-sac.  Everyone stopping by has heard the story and been recommended to your store to see all the other great treasures we saw there when we picked up the bike!”

But for us, the best part was receiving a really good hug from Nicholas when he came in to pick up his new wheels!

Our New Tableware is a Feast for the Eyes!

Friday, October 9th, 2009

We are super excited to have found an adorable new dish line! We chose our 3 favourite designs by SugarBooger®, whose melamine products are non-toxic and lead-free according to US, European, and Canadian standards.  Any little one will delight in eating up so they can catch a glimpse of the sweet little owls looking out from branches, flowers and floating hearts in the Hoot collection. The Retro Robots series is charming as can be with kooky characters and tools galore.  For those of you who love to count the bites that are left to eat, the Numbers sets will be perfect. One for the little piggy, two for the squeaky mouse, and so on until supper is all eaten up!
